Happy April!

 Jennifer recently worked at Paramount Studios on a new CBS TV series  that will start airing in the Fall.

You can currently hear Jennifer’s voice, dubbing the character Hongcha, played by Jung Ho Yeon (from Squid Games) in the new Netflix series CHICKEN NUGGET!

Jennifer is currently recording a fun Fantasy book for Podium, where she gets to perform Scottish accents for the main male character and two female side characters! She recently recorded a YA book for HarperCollins about a friendship breakup, set against the backdrop of a chaotic night at a music festival! Recent releases are the YA Fantasy “When Oceans Rise” by Robin Alvarez, and the mystery/thriller “Fortune” by Ellen Won Stiel for Brilliance Publishing.

Jennifer is honored to be part of the cast of  “El Deafo” by CeCe Bell. WINNER of the 2024 Odyssey Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production for Children!  Jennifer voiced 12 characters in this middle-grade graphic novel. And only two audiobooks per year win this award from the American Library Association! Produced by Penguin Random House Audio.

Jennifer recently dubbed a new TV show; she can’t reveal the network or show yet. 

Jennifer taught a Directing Workshop for Narrators with the goal of increasing underrepresented directors in the audiobook industry. 

Jennifer is back in LA after attending the Audie Awards gala in New York City, where she was nominated for narrating the book “Generation Wonder” by Barry Lyga and others, produced by Blackstone Publishing. She also won an Audiofile Earphones Award Winner for narrating “A History of Fear” by Luke Dumas and for “My Life” by CAPE, both produced by Simon & Schuster. She is honored to have narrated these titles with a talented cast!

Jennifer was asked to be a Speaker at VO Atlanta’s Audiobook Academy March 31 – April 3. She presented three sessions:

How to Break in for BIPOC Narrators.

 

Jennifer recently spoke in a panel at The Audio Publishers Association Conference on the topic of Authenticity in Social Media, as well as appeared in The Audie Awards – which recognizes work in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment.

Jennifer recently started directing audiobooks, and is currently directing for Hachette and Macmillan.

Jennifer will voice the role of Lizzie in the animated short film “Gavin’s Adventures” directed by Fiona Lincke.

Jennifer recently worked on the film POST SENTENCE, written by Teresa Huang, directed by Charissa Sanjarernsuithikul, and produced by Melissa Bickerton. POST SENTENCE is about how a notorious criminal faces his ultimate justice. POST SENTENCE recently screened in the Dances With Films Film Festival at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.

Jennifer worked on the film THE COFFEE RUN, written and directed by Gustavo Sampaio. THE COFFEE RUN premiered at the North Hollywood CineFest, and also screened at the Studio City Film Festival.

Jennifer produced the film THE ANNIVERSARY directed by Art Chudabala, and starring Kipp Shiotani, Peter Shinkoda, and Jennifer Aquino.
THE ANNIVERSARY screened at the Marina Del Rey Film Festival, Culver City Film Festival, the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, the Asians on Film Festival, and the North Hollywood Film Festival, where it won Best Short Film Thriller, Best Editing, and Special Recognition Awards!
THE ANNIVERSARY written by Patrick Barrett, is about an anguished widower who celebrates his wedding anniversary by kidnapping the man who killed his wife.

Jennifer worked on the feature film “The Message” (now called “Camp Arrowhead.”) directed by Timothy Armstrong. Jennifer plays Candace Aroyo.

The film THE PACKAGE screened at The Sherry Theater in North Hollywood. THE PACKAGE is directed by Tony Patterson. Jennifer plays the role of Federal Agent Ava James.

Jennifer appeared on the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Episode #21 titled “How to Save a Life.” Jennifer played the role of Derek Shepherd’s Anesthesiologist; she was honored to be in Patrick Dempsey’s last episode after 11 seasons. ABC promoted it as “The episode America will never forget!” Jennifer worked with director Rob Hardy (Empire, Criminal Minds, Bones.) The buzz after it aired was that it was the most emotional episode on television.

Jennifer worked with Director Nicolai Fuglsig on a national commercial for the US Marine Corps. Nicolai has won over 170 accolades for his commercial directorial work including 4 Emmy nominations from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, taking home the award in 2013. Jennifer has been recurring as a nurse on the soap General Hospital. Her episodes started airing in April. Keep an eye out for her Monday – Friday at 2pm PST on ABC.

Jennifer worked on Disney’s animated show SPECIAL AGENT OSO. The show features an innovative mixture of digital cut-out, 3D, Photoshop and Flash Animation. And it stars Academy Award-nominated actor Sean Astin as the voice of Oso, a fuzzy, lovable, bumbling special agent-in-training who enlists the help of viewers at home to complete his missions.

You can currently hear her voice as the red head girl, Chelsea in the RUGRATS’ animated television series ALL GROWN UP on Nickelodeon.
